AMBASSADORS OF THE HARDWOOD

WHO IS AN AMBASSADOR?
The Ambassadors are members of the Boys Basketball Team. These young gentlemen are in grades 6-8. They are representatives of Duckrey and the Duckrey School Community every time they step onto the court.
As a member of the Boys Basketball Team, these young gentlemen are expected to be leaders and role models within the school. They must maintain a strong academic record and act in an appropriate manner each and everyday they come to school. It is expected that they do the following 3 things:

HAVE PRIDE
DISPLAY CHARACTER
WHO WILL THEY MENTOR?
The Ambassadors will be matched up with a student in grades 3-5. The chosen students, called "Amateur Athletes", will be chosen because they struggle behaviorally, academically or socially.
The Ambassadors job is to:
- Check in with their "Amateur Athlete" each day
- Discuss the importance of education
- Role model how to act in an appropriate manner within the school
- Explain, model and discuss what it means to be a student athlete within the Duckrey School Community
WHAT WILL THE STUDENTS ACHIEVE THROUGH THIS PROGRAM?
All of the students involved in this program will benefit through their involvement.
THE AMBASSADORS WILL:
- Learn how to be a role model
- Learn how to positively influence younger students both academically and behaviorally
- Grow as leaders within the school and the school community
THE AMATEUR ATHLETES WILL:
- Get positive advice and guidance
- Learn the importance of good behavior
- Learn the importance of being successful academically

The Ambassadors will be inviting their Amateur Athletes to their games to allow them to see them play and to build upon the relationships they will be building throughout the year.
All Ambassadors will wear t-shirts with the program's logo on it to help promote the positive message the program wants to promote within the school and the athletic prgrams at the Dr. Tanner G. Duckrey School.
