2 May, 2010
S.I.L. Div. 4
St Clements Hospital 1 v Walsham Le Willows “A” 3
A much changed Walsham side, due to several players being unavailable travelled to Ipswich and after only 1 minute Walsham took the lead with a goal by N Elers. St Clements looked to get back in to the game but Walsham increased their lead with an own goal, just before half time the home side pulled a goal back with a shot through a crowd of players. The second half was a good even contest but then Walsham increased the lead with a cross / shot by H Davies that went off the inside of the post. This was good performance by Walsham in view of the amount of changes with K Tarpley looking a very accomplished as a goalkeeper.

BACTON UNITED RES 2 WALSHAM A TEAM 2 WALSHAM CHAMPIONS

22 April, 2010
S.I.L. Div. 4, Thursday 22nd April
Bacton Utd Res 2 v Walsham Le Willows “A” 2
Walsham were away to Bacton and needed a draw to ensure that they were League Champions, the game was a good even battle from the start and after 12 minutes Hayden Davies got in a good header from a corner to put Walsham 1 – 0 up. Bacton came back at Walsham and equalised in the 17th minute when from a long throw Walsham failed to clear the ball from the area and the Bacton forward slammed the ball home through a crowd of players. After 50 minutes from a quick break the ball reached Karl Tarpley who rounded the keeper to put Walsham back in front, Walsham then had a good chance to wrap up the game when they were awarded a penalty but Patrick Lawrence put it wide, after 70 minutes Bacton equalised when once again from a long throw the ball eluded all the Walsham defenders and was deflected in to the goal. Walsham still had some good chances to go back in front and at the other end Patrick Arnold made some good saves to deny Bacton the winner, so the game finished all square which gave Walsham the point required to win the league with still two games remaining

Changes were made by both sides in the second half with Tattingstone looking for the equaliser and then after 80 minutes a cross / shot from H Davies was deflected into the net to increase the lead for Walsham, just before the end an excellent free kick D Holder produced an excellent save by the home keeper

SPORTING 87 RES. 1 WALSHAM 'A' TEAM 0

15 April, 2010
Tuesday 13th April
S.I.L. Div 4.
Walsham were away to a strong looking Sporting 87 Res team in a division 4 league game, having gained promotion at the weekend they were also looking to maintain their unbeaten league run. The first half was fairly even with Walsham having slightly the better of the play and creating half chances without testing the home keeper. Sporting 87 had players that looked dangerous when on the ball and were giving a good account of themselves. With the score at half time of 0 - 0 Walsham looked more determined in the second half but some good defending and some excellent saves by the home goalkeeper kept Walsham at bay and to make matters worse Walsham missed 2 good chances when players missed an open goal. With 5 minutes left to play Sporting 87 broke clear and they scored the only goal of the game to take the points and to become the first team to beat Walsham in the league this season.

Henley came more in to the game in the second half and after 60 minutes equalised with an excellent goal from a free kick from 25 yards. Still Walsham could not create any clear chances and were lucky to maintain their unbeaten league record when Booker headed a goal bound effort off the line and from the corner Henley hit the cross bar.
