7th Heaven for the Sox over the A's!

The Burlington White Sox may have been down on roster but with the lord on their side, the 7 remaining players made it happen as they easily dispatched the Milton As on Tuesday at Millcroft Park, 12-0.



The White Sox jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the 1st inning as the A's came out and kicked the ball around. Stamp reached on an error with a hard 90. After Brett Graham doubled, scoring Stamp, a 2nd error proved costly and scored 2 more runs. After 1 inning, 3-0 Sox.

The scoring would continue in the 3rd inning. back-to back doubles from Brett Graham and Josh Cossitt would plate a run. Back-to-back walks (and a nice double steal would put Cossitt Jr and Texas tall McLaughlin in scoring position for Charlie Lisac. Charlie would deliver with a friendly hop hard ground ball over the SS to plate 2 more. After 3 innings, 6-0 Sox.

The dagger would come in the bottom of the 4th. New arm Matt McKelvey came in from SS and could not locate. After 4 consecutive walks and a hit batter, Cossitt Sr would step up (with the grace of God by his side) and single off the 1st base bag to plate 2 more. Another walk would end the day for McKelvey but 3 more runs would plate off Gilmore, with a single from call up Brad "Kamikaze" Ellis and a deep Sac Fly from call up Chris Smorenburg. After 4 innings, 12-0 Sox.



Kayleb "Texas Tall" McLaughlin started the game for Burlington. In his season debut for the Sox the pitcher surrendered 0 hits and 0 runs over 2 innings, striking out 2 and walking none.

Dylan "Pedro" Grosul pitched 3 innings in relief for Burlington and earned the win. The righty surrendered 2 hits and 0 runs while, striking out 4 and walking none. Some might say that Pastor Pedro took the A's to church with a dominant display from the heavenly hurler.

Zack Stefnitz started the game for the Milton As. The hard throwing hurler allowed 5 hits and 6 runs (3 earned) over 3 innings, striking out 5 and walking 4. Stefnitz deserved a better fate as both his defense and offense let him down.



Brett Graham lead the offense for the White Sox with 2 smashed doubles. Kamikaze also had 2 hits (and the best walk up song on the night). Cossitt Sr and Cossitt Jr were thrust into the middle of the lineup and did not disappoint. It was a family affair with 4 RBIs for the duo. Charlie Lisac also drove in 2 runs with his offensive contributions.

Texas Tall McLaughlin displayed immense patients at the plate for the Sox. The clean up hitter had 2 walks and an HBP. for a perfect on base percentage and 3 runs scored! Overall, the team had continued patience at the plate, collecting 8 walks for the game.

The Sox also continued their record setting pace with swiped bags with 6. Jordan Stamp and Kayleb McLaughlin each stole multiple bases in the effort

The lone 2 hits for the A's were recorded by Walker McKelvey and Drew Gilmore.



Post game prayers were led by Tyler "The Deacon" Windisch and Pastor Pedro. Many souls enlightened and many thirsts quenched as the squad delved into a little too much of the holy water!

The Burlington White Sox will now enjoy a long break before the next contest on July 9th. 8:30pm vs the Stoney Creek Snipers at Ireland Park.
