Stars Even Up With Dodgers
In a full-team effort, The Stars took game 2 from The Dodgers, to even the head-to-head this year at 1-1. Game-ball recipient John Sosa went the distance for his first season victory, backed up by a near-flawless defense (one doggy door); helping his own cause with a significant 2 ribbie smack in the 3rd inning; Aaron McPherson followed with a base hit and Bryan Vick followed with his own 2 ribbie drive.
Will Diaz drilled a gapper in the 5th to account for half of the Dodgers' runs.
Sadly, Dodger pitcher Jimmie Freeman HBP'ed out early in a game where the Stars led wire-to-wire. The celestial ones capitalized on 5 walks in the first inning to score 5 runs and just added to it as the game progressed.
A fun time in rattlesnake country - amazingly, no extra game balls were called for; at least not from the Stars. Looking forward to the next matchup!!
