Boys of Summer 2024 Registration Now Open!

Summer 2024 Registration (13U-College)

Long Island Boys of Summer registration for 2024 is now open! The Summer season will begin Saturday, June 1st and conclude in August with championship games tentatively scheduled to take place the weekends of Aug 9th-11th (Varsity and College Divisions) and Aug 16th-18th (13U-16U).

The National division will remain the most competitive with American being the next most competitive and Central (available for 13U-16U) being the least competitive and best suited for new/developmental teams. The Varsity and College Crossover ages will have one division each however your selection of National/American/Central will assist us in creating a schedule for your team that is as competitive as possible.

Summer registration is $2300 for a 24 game regular season plus playoffs. A $500 deposit will hold your spot in our Summer season. In addition to your deposit, please fill out the 2024 Team Registration Form online as well.

NEW! 10 Game Mid-Week Season Registration (14U-Varsity)

In addition to the full Summer Season outlined above, this year we will also be offering a separate abbreviated Summer Season consisting of 10 games played Tuesdays-Thursdays. The Mid-Week Summer Season is a great alternative for any teams that would not be able to play in the full season due to too many tournaments, showcases, etc.

Mid-Week Season registration is $1400 for 10 games played on Tuesdays-Thursdays throughout the summer. Teams who are interested can fill out the 2024 Team Registration Form online and indicate within the Blackout Dates that the registration is for the Mid-Week Season.

Baseball Orders

As a reminder, the official baseballs used in Boys of Summer league play are as follows:
  • Spalding High School or College
  • Rawlings R-100
  • Diamond D-1
  • Baden Perfection
  • Wilson HS-1010
No other baseballs are permitted in league play unless otherwise approved by the executive committee.
Please complete the below form if you still need to order baseballs for the Summer Season. Baseballs are $65 per dozen and will be available for pickup at our schedule meeting in May (date TBD).

Please reach out to us if you would like to pick them up prior to this as we are more than happy to coordinate to alleviate the amount needing to be picked up at the schedule meeting.

College Divisions
For any College teams not already playing in the Blue Chip Collegiate Baseball League, we will have a Boys of Summer 18U/College Crossover division for teams aging out of high school and heading into the college ranks with less stringent rules for blacked-out dates and scheduling purposes. Full teams can register normally using the team registration link above.

Single players can also register for the college division, which includes incoming freshman players, by emailing us at liboysofsummer@gmail.com with your name and contact information to be placed on our free agent list for college players. The fee for single college players will be $975 for the season which includes league registration, uniforms, umpire fees, and baseballs.

Younger Divisions (7U-12U) & Columbus Day Tournament (8U-18U)

Spring and Summer Season registration for the 7U-12U age divisions is also now open through our partnership with East Coast Youth Baseball.

This Fall, we will be holding a 9U-12U Suffolk Fall League hosted by Town of Brookhaven and PAL. The BOS Suffolk Fall League will be $895 for a 10 game schedule in ability-based divisions.

Additionally, we will again be co-hosting the 2024 Columbus Day Tournament together with East Coast Tournaments this year from October 11-14th for all age divisions (8U-18U). For more details and registration for the 7U-12U Spring/Summer Seasons as well as the 8U-18U 2024 Columbus Day Tournament, please visit EastCoastYouthBaseball.com to sign up.

Muddy Locker Sports

Lastly, we are excited to announce our new partnership with Muddy Locker Sports! A 10% discount on Summer registration will be available to new Muddy Locker customers who purchase a uniform package. Teams who are interested can find more information in the attached document or by reaching out via email at cs@muddylockersports.com.

As always, if you have an announcement for tryouts or a clinic, please send it to us and we will post on the website for you for free.

See you all soon!

SUNFLOWER SEEDS ARE PROHIBITED IN BOYS OF SUMMER BASEBALL ON ALL FIELDS

August 9, 2022

Sunflower seeds are prohibitedimmediately from all Boys of Summer events, including games, tournaments, showcases and practices. This rule was made effective on Tuesday, August 9 and will be enforced at all fields, including grass, dirt and synthetic turf. There are no exceptions to this rule moving forward.

Due to the ongoing struggle with keeping our venues clean and our permits in order, we have no choice but to have a zero tolerance policy. We have had four coaches suspended in the past two weeks and two field permits withdrawn and another in jeopardy of being pulled.

Any coach with seeds will be immediately ejected from the field and face suspension from further participation. Any player with seeds will be immediately ejected along with the head coach and both will serve a suspension. A second infraction by the same team will carry an immediate termination from league play. Coaches should check all players before an event begins and make sure they are following the rules. Umpires will not issue warnings, they are charged with enforcing the rule only.

TIME LIMITS

Due to the outpouring of concern about the imposed time limits and the break in between games where umpires need to get changed we are revising our time limit rules. Please carry this note to your games so there are no issues with the new rules.

There will be a 1:50 time limit on all Boys of Summer games with following games scheduled and no new inning may begin after 1:50.

Please note that the time limit begins at the ground rules meeting. The umpire should then notify both teams of the start time which should be written down by the managers.

Regular season games in the summer and fall that go four full innings are now official. We've had a few guys working the clock to avoid a loss - please always play with integrity.

There is an hour and fifty (1:50) time limit for all playoff games until the Championship which has no time limit. All playoff games tied after the time limit or 7 innings of play will enter a California tie breaker. Each team puts the batter who is scheduled to bat last in that respective half of the inning on second base and plays out a full inning.

BASES, HELMETS, AND PROPER ATTIRE

ATTENTION ALL MANAGERS AND COACHES

BASES

All teams must have a set of bases for each game. Some fields accommodate us with bases but others do not so please remember to bring them to all fields. Town of Brookhaven fields are an example of fields that do not supply bases but there are others as well and teams must have a their own set of bases.

COACHING HELMETS

See Rule 18 under Boys of Summer rules.

COACHING ATTIRE

All coaches must be properly dressed for games. A coaches shirt, team jersey or pullover is acceptable. Coaches shorts or baseball pants are also acceptable. NO denim or cutoff shorts, slacks, work pants, capris, skirts, work boots or dress shoes can be worn while coaching the bases. This also should never be an issue to be dealt with at the field.

NASSAU COUNTY PARKS -- IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

If you are playing games at any of the Nassau County Parks, Wantagh, Eisenhower, Cantiague and Bay, there is a $10 parking fee imposed by Nassau County for all non-residents. This has nothing to do with Boys of Summer. This is has been in effect for the past two years at all of these venues during tournaments and league play so please be advised that there is a fee for all non-residents. Thank you for your cooperation.
